Application Checklist

Bank  require an original certified copy of photographic identification and a certified copy or original of a document which verifies your residential address. These are required for each party to the account, however, Bank can accept one verification of address document if it is addressed to both parties to the account.
Documentation in a foreign language will only be acceptable together with a full professional translation and the bank must be able to identify the translator of the document.

Acceptable forms of Photographic Identification

• Current valid Passport
• Current valid Photographic Driving Licence
• Current valid National ID Card

The document must show your name, signature, ID number, nationality, date of birth, place of birth, date and place of issue and expiry date. If the signature on your ID differs from your application form please sign the copy and have the certifier confirm your current signature.

Acceptable forms of Address Verification

** Please note - must be no more than 3 months old **

• Utility Bill for fixed service i.e. Gas, Electricity or Telephone Bill (Mobile phone bills are not acceptable)
• Bank or Credit Card statement
• Photographic Driving Licence (if not used as a form of Photographic Identification)

PO Boxes - The bank recognises that there are jurisdictions where only PO Boxes are used. In these situations an original letter addressed to Anglo Irish Bank from your IFA/Employer confirming your employment, physical residential address and your PO Box address will be acceptable. The letter must confirm all parties to the account. Please note, the bank does not send post to certain countries and reserves the right to request an alternative correspondence address in another jurisdiction.

Suitable Certifiers acceptable to the Bank

• Judiciary member, Senior Civil Servant, Serving Police Officer or Customs Officer
• Embassy, Consulate or High Commission Official
• Lawyer, Notary Public, Actuary, Company Secretary or Accountant who is a practicing member of recognised professional body
• Director, Manager or Company Secretary with a financial role within a regulated business(e.g. Bank Manager, Finance Manager or IFA)

IMPORTANT

The certifier should affix their stamp, sign and date the copy. They must also print their name, state their position and quote their office address. They must use the following wording for each document type -

Photographic Identification - 'I certify that this is a true copy of the original document and that the photograph is a true likeness of the individual concerned'

Address verification - 'I certify that this is a true copy of the original document'

Please note, applicants family members cannot certify the documents. The bank reserves the right to satisfactorily identify the certifier by making further enquiries.

How to Open an Account

The Bank apologises for any inconvenience this may cause however adopting a risk based approach precludes the Bank from facilitating banking arrangements to individuals or entities within these jurisdictions.

What is final step to account opening?

• A confirmation letter is issued within a few days of the account opening - this includes the new account number
• Statements will be issued quarterly (as at the last day of December/March/June/September) reflecting all transactions since the last statement or the opening of the account, including interest paid
